Dr. Fraud

Patricia Butler was one of the many therapists hired by DHS to "fix" me and my daughter. Patricia was one of the only professionals I remember during my ordeal with DHS who was willing to speak speak frankly, whether not her assessments concurred with DHS. Many DHS-contracted therapists seem to be the hand-maiden of the state, corroborating and legitimizing whatever DHS has prescribed for a family.

I found Patricia to be intelligent, compassionate and honest. She used common sense in trying to help my daughter transition back home, after being drugged and indoctrinated by DHS back in 2002.

Patricia specializes in grief counseling, PTSD, family relationships and other issues. She indicated a particular interest in helping children who have been traumatized. If you are looking for a child therapist who might help a child who has been traumatized by DHS custody, I suggest you call Patricia Butler.

"You will be very interested to know that I have been doing some calling for a research project that was the idea of CPR.

For this project I call on LICENSED psychologists and social workers so far, primarily in Kent County. The ones that I have contacted are all in private practice.

The reason for this email is to inform you that I have been overwhelmed by these people in private practice each with an average of twenty years of doing therapy and psych evaluations unloading on me storied almost IDENTICAL to what you have just written and asking ME what they can do. Each of these therapists thought that they had the only case(s) where this kind of trampling of parental rights and childrens' rights were happening.

They are asking me what they can do to change the system. Many of them are telling me that the way some of these cases are coming down so wrongfully removing children that they can hardly sleep at night thinking of the illegal plundering of these families.

The other thing is that they are relieved when I tell them that they are NOT alone that this is happening all over and that there are grass roots efforts that are growing to change the system.

The repeated theme is that the licensed therapist with years of experience goes to court and testifies. The FIA/DHS has their unlicensed caseworker who was BORN the year that most of these therapists started their practice(s) and the court chooses to BELIEVE the testimoney of the inexperienced, unlicensed FIA social worker over the Licensed, experienced Therapist.

Despite the fact that the licensed therapists were able to answer all their questions and objections in a truthful and direct fashion.

Somehow, our graduate schools did NOT prepare us for dealing with the inexperienced, unlicensed, unknowledgable FIA "caseworkers". Nor did our graduate schools prepare us for the lies and deception of the FIA and their power in the lives of families.

I am getting completely convinced that there is a huge backlash of therapists who will move with their associations before to long to change the current status quo with those in State Government who refuse to address these issues. I think these issues need to be brought to the forefront in the National Association Meetings. I am telling the therapists this same thing."

One of the "orphan" moms recently sent me the 566 questions to the MMPI. I am working on a "cheat sheet", to try to help parents who are forced to go have a "psych eval". The MMPI is a true or false questionnaire that is supposed to be able to tell what kind of personality you have, in order for DHS to hone in on your personality weakness to build a case for taking or keeping your kids. Of course, there are no "correct answers" but I am working on a model that attempts to make the psych fraud victim look as "normal" as possible.

On Wednesday, February 23, 2005, I visited the office of Dr. Robert Basham, at 1920 NW Johnson, in NW Portland. I went there with Mary August, who is another mother who has been victimized by the mental health industry, in collusion with CPS and Oregon DHS.

We arrived with MCTV crew and equipment in front of Dr. Basham's office about 11:30 a.m. Mary and I were filmed doing a basic overview of how psychological evaluations are routinely used in the State's attempt to legitimize an otherwise fraudulent procedure in the taking of good kids out of good homes.

We interviewed passersby and offered information to Dr. Basham's current patients and potential future victims of Oregon's child welfare fraud industry.

At about 11:45, Mary August and I, along with MCTV cameraman, entered the office building at NW Johnson near 19th. We were signaled to come into the reception area. I explained to Dr. Basham's receptionist that we were there from the MotherInterrupted Show to interview Dr. Basham. She phoned Dr. Basham to let him know, then asked us to wait in the lobby. The receptionist was extremely polite.

A few minutes later, Dr. Basham peeked out into the lobby and I asked him if he was indeed Dr. Basham. "I'm not interested in talking to you", he stately curtly. I tried to ask him a few questions about the children who are being taken as a result of his so-called psych evals, but he rushed away and slammed the door on us. Why does Dr. Basham refuse to talk to MotherInterrupted? I imagine he might be afraid of being exposed for the fraud he really is.

If you have been ordered to undergo a psych eval by a state-contracted psychologist, like Dr. Basham, Dr. Sebastian or Dr. Sweet, please beware that the psychologist may have received slanderous information about you from DHS before ever meeting you in person. Psychological evaluations are supposed to be done in an unbiased setting, ie, the psychological has not received any prior information about you before seeing you. S/he only knows your name and the time of your appointment.

Be very careful when submitting to a psych eval, especially if DHS is paying for it.
