Petition: Stop Internet Advertising of Children

In Oregon, and in other states, good children are being removed from good, loving, functional homes and taken into government custody, which has become a multi-billion dollar industry in our country. In Oregon, over two thousand child services workers, including some who make over 100K a year, take children—5,696 just in 2002--from their homes, many times against the child’s and the parents’ will. They say it is in the “best interest of the child”. Children who are taken from their homes often suffer irreversible trauma, and studies show, these children are no better off in foster care or in adoptive homes. Some grow up to be criminals. Some become serial killers, like Ted Bundy.

In whose best interest really is this involuntary removal of children from their homes? Caseworkers, supervisors, administrators, court-appointed attorneys, family law attorneys, judges, attorney generals, as well as therapists, psychologists and others who contract with the State’s children’s services program, all make a profit, while children and parents suffer.

Oregon Family Rights, and other family rights activists and advocates around the world, are asking Bruce Willis to lead the effort to end the child abuse industry, beginning with a ban of internet sites that advertise children for adoption. These sites include, but are not limited to:

We petition the Internet Protocol Commission, US Congress, and the President of the United States, to demand immediate removal of above Web sites, and any other Web site involved in the electronic advertisement of children.
